Training zones
Introduction
Very much related to periodisation and how to structure your year, when building up to an event you can move through 3 phases of training.
Base
Establishing a firm foundation.
Build
Build on the foundation in the Base phase and improve aerobic thresholds. Take the distances and standards set in the base phase and try and do them stronger and quicker
Peak and taper
Keep pushing the aerobic, and more anerobic and as the event comes close ease off in the run up to the event to try and loose some fatigue your training as developed so that you are fresh for the event.
